But I've customized to make it more general (removed some and added some, including a Netflix one).

To use, right-click your favorite, choose "Change Thumbnail" then browse to one of the images

v18 - exporting library when changes have been made

When one export's one's library, one has the choice to overwrite existing files or not.  this seems to be a problem when on is dealing with a very very large library and one has made changes to the library (for instance, fixed the detection of a tv show).

One seems to have one of three choices

1) overwrite every single file
2) figure out which nfo files are wrong and delete them by hand
3) don't export changed data and only export data for new files that haven't been previously exported

It would seem to be smarter to perhaps have the ability for the db to be marked if an entry has been exported and to reset it if the entry is changed.  that way we can only overwrite items we want to keep up to date without overwriting the entries for our entire library. 

In my case, this can be seen with having part of my library stored on google drive.  while the local library can be overwritten relatively efficiently, the remote library is very very slow to overwrite (especially when one has thousands to tends of thousands of individual video items there).

I just got a little motivated to learn something new today so I tried teaching myself a little photoshop.
I know they are not very good but, I'm just learning Confused

I use MQ7 multiMOD skin (Thanks Latts for the great skin!)
and just had to change the code in the view xml where the logos are
from... background="true"
to....... background="false"   
and I made a new folder(apngs), in the skins media folder and put them there.
Then just choose art, browse and replace clearlogo.
Rename file to .apng

They work well...and I like the look...now I just have to get better at making them Big Grin

What do you guys think?

There is currently no listing for the Netflix version of the TV Show at TheMovieDB and TVDB. (the feature at tvdb is not yet functional)

The downloadable rar file includes the following...
  • TV Show and 3 Season folders
  • NFO Files for each episode and the TV Show
  • Artwork for the TV Show, Seasons, episodes and actors.

The show is organised as follows:
  • S01 - 13 episodes
  • S02 - 9 episodes
  • S03 - 8 episodes

How to use:
  • Extract the rar file into your Kodi TV Show Source folder.
  • Add your episode video files and rename them to match the naming of the nfo files
  • Scan the show into your TV Show library

Off Grid Troubles

I recently set up a media server at an off-grid cabin with no access to the internet. My media is stored locally on a server running Open Media Vault and is shared between multiple devices including a Raspberry Pi, Android boxes, IOS / Android tablets and some media PCs, which all run versions of KODI. I chose KODI for the build because  it is simple, easy to teach to people, and most importantly its unique ability to run offline indefinitely without requiring an internet connection. Every other media manager just has to call home occasionally.  

I am pleased to say that everything has been working flawlessly for about a year. This is due to the fact that I set the whole thing up while I had access to the internet prior to transporting the system to the cabin.  I was able to download metadata and artwork for media files at home on each individual machine before I transported them.

Now here is the rub: I want to update the server with some new media. I plan to load the new media onto a portable hard drive and copy it to the shared storage at the cabin. Without tearing the whole rig down and transporting everything back home - Is there a way to pre-load the metadata / artwork onto the portable drive in such a way that would allow KODI to find and load it without the use of the internet? The perfectionist in me would rather not mar the beautiful interface with the occasional file that does not have artwork. Ugh right?! Then again, I loathe the idea of dragging everything home with me again every time I want to load a few more media files. 

I have searched the forums for a solution and I did find a way to get KODI to store media information individually in media folders rather than one database. I was encouraged for a bit, but either I didn't to it right or KODI isn't designed to load the information locally with no internet access. Either way, the files did not end up with the correct metadata / artwork 

Does anyone know of a solution? If not, no big deal. I will haul the whole mess home and update it there. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

Sorting through years is broken?

Hello!
I recently discovered Kodi and I'm trying to organize around it to create my media center.
I've got around 3000 movies, so efficient sorting is crucial to me.
I've noted weirdnesses in the "Years" and "Genres" categories. Obviously, as you must know, sevreal movies are often sorted in very questionnable genres and some of them are never sorted anywhere. But I'm mostly ok with that since I don't see myself browsing through genres all that often.

"Years" on the other hand is a feature I was excited about but it seems to be broken as well.
Obviously it's hard to double check everything when you have so many movies but one year I use as reference is 1999. The Matrix is missing and so is The Phantom Menace to name a few. I know it is not just a matter of putting the year in the file name since The Mummy hasn't got the date and it's popping in the right year.

Is the category broken? How does it work? How could I fix it?

Hi this is a collection of 900 Transparent Channel Logos for British cable (Virgin Media), satellite (Freesat and Sky), terrestrial (Freeview) and Irish satellite (Sky) television channel and radio stations.
These logo's are sourced from Jasmeet181 https://github.com/Jasmeet181/mediaportal-uk-logos mediaportal Logo thread and have been resized from the high quality source files to 800x450 and center padded on transparent backgrounds.

Please note: These logo's work best on a skin with a dark background

To install:
Download and extract the icons.
Open pvr settings in kodi.
Change settings to advanced or expert (if you have not already done)
Go to menu/osd and select folder with channel icons and direct it to the icon folder above
Then click scan for missing icons.
Alternatively you may also be able to add the icons to your chosen back-end and have them imported automatically into your Kodi clients.

Note: If you have any missing icons you need to check the names of the icons so they match exactly the channel name as it appears in Kodi to get them to display.

Je vous ai concocter un pack pour les 4 saisons (Netflix) avec Posters, Fanarts, Landscapes, Banners et des fonds pour chaque épisodes et acteurs

Il suffit de décompresser l'archive et de copier les fichiers NFO vers votre répertoire séries "La Casa De Papel"

Bien respecter la nomination des fichiers vidéos et NFO ils doivent avoir le même nom

Ensuite il suffit de scanner manuellement

Movie/TV artwork and metadata not showing or incorrect

Hi,

I upgraded Kodi from version 17.4 to 18.5 earlier this year.  Since the upgrade all the artwork/metadata for movies & TV shows have either disappeared or a few have been incorrectly downloaded by Kodi.  Recently I discovered the problem seems to be Kodi somehow has found some local information (which is incorrect, and I don't know where Kodi got it from) and hence does not automatically refresh the artwork/metadata from the Internet.  I can fix this by individually going into each movie, manually force a refresh from the Internet so that the correct artwork/metadata is downloaded from the Internet.  The problem is that I have hundreds of movies and this manual method will take a long time to complete.  Is there a way to automatically force Kodi to refresh all the artwork/metadata from the Internet for all movies & TV shows?  I have tried Update Library but this does not work.

Discart for tv shows?

Hello.

I am using the movie db to scrap my tv shows library and the advancedsettings.xml entries as mentioned in this wiki
TV-Show_artwork (wiki)
Things work fine but I don't get any discart for the tv shows. I also noticed that in the wiki it doesn't mention any option in the advancedsettings.xml file to get the discart artwork.
How does the scarpper get the discart then?
I also noticed that in the skin I am using AeonNox, there is no support for manually choosing a discart for the tv show similar to the option in the movies when I click the info menu then choose art. So even if I download the discart manually there is no way to put it in kodi.

Animated Poster Location?

I have all my media located on a NAS along with all the associated artwork in each folder. I have downloaded a few animated posters however they will not display over a network connection. Where and how do I store them locally? I can go through and add them individually and it works great, but its not efficient for multiple movies.
Any help would be great

Due to the lack of cdArt from FanArt.tv for anime/VGM disc art I decided to start creating several of them, just to test my long forgotten PS skill. Also trying to contribute back to the community for those awesome fanart backdrops that I had been using!

Some of the scans are pretty low resolution to begin with (1500x1500) in JPEG, but I tried my best. It's easy to work with scans with 2000x2000 since it's easier to downscale than upscale. I think I'm starting to speed up my workflow now Smile What do you think? Any scans that you like me to do? You provide the hi res link if any.

Let me know your thoughts, critical feedback would be appreciated to further improve the quality (I'm looking at you pixel peepers! ;-) I have standard PS skill and these are my first attempt to create CD art for these albums. Even better, post a screenshot of your VGM album in Kodi skin showing it spin!

Fanart from TMDB only shows "No Language" Backdrops

I've noticed that when I add or refresh a movie that if the Fanart from TheMovieDB has a language set it will not be selectable as FanArt in Kodi.  The only FanArt I can select is if the language is set to No Language.

For example the backdrops for this movie

There is 1 English backdrop, and 2 No Language backdrops (I added the no language ones)

When this movie is added into Kodi the English Backdrop will not appear in FanArt, only the "No Language" backdrops appear as fanart.  Is this a bug in Kodi, or is it that the TMDB API is not returning the backdrop set to English?
